Where in the world did the shelf elf come from? I don't know, but you just know that this thing is right up my alley! Making little scenes with cute things? How could you not love it‽ What I don't love is that they cost 30 freaking bucks! Say what‽ And I fell for it. I got a real one. But I immediately regretted it. So I made my own pattern so that you wouldn't have to live in this depressing world of regret I'm in. Merry Christmas!
He hasn't told me his name yet, but here are some of the shenanigans he's been up to lately.
Love it! And thanks for good laugh! :)
ReplyDeleteHe's stealing your candy!!! It's a good thing you didn't make a girl, or she would have poisoned it, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make one for every family on my Christmas list!
LOVE this post. You may totally changed my mind about the Sh(elf)!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much! This 'exactly' what I was looking for. I'll be making mine immediately. Let the mischief begin...

ReplyDeleteHow do you the face. I have been trying to work on it for the last two days HELP .
ReplyDeleteJan, did you ever figure out how to do the face? I have just started on the elf and did fine until I came to the end of Row #7 where it says to "ch9". That just didn't make since to me at all. Can anyone please help with rows 7, 8 and 9? I am trying to make some of these for my grandchildren. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI know you asked this months ago but I was working on it tonight and was just as confused as you were/are. I went back and just decided to see what would happen if I did 9 sc instead of ch 9. It continues it around the back of the head and you can continue on. I believe this was just a miss type. going onto row 8 you made a sm bauble which is the nose and then continue around the head. row 9 the big baubles are the cheeks. I hope this helps someone. This is what I did with it and it came out looking similar to the picture.
DeleteGonna try this today - hope it works for me as I'm a very basic crochet person
ReplyDeleteHas anyone figured out the ears? They look funny to me. Mine are like wings.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your cute design!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this great pattern. I'd better get hooking!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm a fairly decent crocheter, but the head in this pattern has me stumped. I have crocheted it and taken it out and started over way too many times. I just cannot seem to make it look right. The body of elf turned out adorable, though! Maybe I will figure out this head at some point.
