Sh(elf): Free Crochet Pattern

Where in the world did the shelf elf come from? I don't know, but you just know that this thing is right up my alley! Making little scenes with cute things? How could you not love itWhat I don't love is that they cost 30 freaking bucks! Say what‽ And I fell for it. I got a real one. But I immediately regretted it. So I made my own pattern so that you wouldn't have to live in this depressing world of regret I'm in. Merry Christmas!

He hasn't told me his name yet, but here are some of the shenanigans he's been up to lately.

  2. He's stealing your candy!!! It's a good thing you didn't make a girl, or she would have poisoned it, too.

I'm going to make one for every family on my Christmas list!

  20. Jan, did you ever figure out how to do the face? I have just started on the elf and did fine until I came to the end of Row #7 where it says to "ch9". That just didn't make since to me at all. Can anyone please help with rows 7, 8 and 9? I am trying to make some of these for my grandchildren. Thanks so much!

    1. I know you asked this months ago but I was working on it tonight and was just as confused as you were/are. I went back and just decided to see what would happen if I did 9 sc instead of ch 9. It continues it around the back of the head and you can continue on. I believe this was just a miss type. going onto row 8 you made a sm bauble which is the nose and then continue around the head. row 9 the big baubles are the cheeks. I hope this helps someone. This is what I did with it and it came out looking similar to the picture.
