I've been wanting to make stamps for pretty much ever now! But I had the darndest time finding a dang gouge! I finally found one yesterday (no thanks to you, Michaels!) and got a small carving block and immediately got to carving. Hmm, what to carve first? A cat, of course! I went a little crazy stamping it everywhere when I was done...
I'm pretty enamored with this snooty guy. This morning I woke up with stamping on the brain again, and tried out a chevron pattern. It was easy as pie to carve, since it's just straight lines. I think it'll make a nice decorative background or border on stationary.
I carved the heart stamp out of one of those cheap-o white erasers. It was super easy to carve and works pretty well but, as you can see, it doesn't stamp as well.
I have a feeling I'm going to be going a little nuts with stamps in the near future.
